Over 2,000 youths
at the weekend staged a protest march across Bori, head-quarters of Khana LGA
of Rivers State.
- -
The youth, who
were drawn from seven LGA of Tai, Eleme, Oyigbo, Gokana, Khana, Opobo/Nkoro and
Andoni of Rivers South East Senatorial District, marched from the State School
1 to the Police Area Command headquarters, all in Bori.
- -
Some of the placards
displayed by the protesting youths read: “we say no to stigmatization of Magnus
Abe,” “say no to military occupation in Ogoni.”
- -
According to
Senator Lee Maeba, it was those selfish politicians from Ogoni extraction who
want to use the military to create the impression that Ogoni was not safe, and
thereby force the rescheduling of the re-run elections at all cost.
CULLED FROM THE PIONEER.
