-
President, National Association of
Telecommunications Subscribers (NATCOMS), Chief Deolu Ogunbanjo said the
unsolicited text message bill was long overdue.
-
According to Ogunbanjo, when the bill is passed
into law, it will protect subscribers from unwanted messages from service
providers.
-
He stated that the bill should also empower the
Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to assemble organizations that will assist
in handling operations and subscriber complaints.
-
Aliyu Makadi, who sponsors the bill, explained
that the bill, when passed into law, would empower aggrieved subscribers to
seek redress in a court of law.
