SOKOTO GOVERNMENT TASKS WORKERS ON BVN ENROLLMENT

-           The Sokoto state government has directed all its workers to submit the Bank Verification Number (BVN) before the receipt of their April and subsequent salaries.

-          Reportedly, this will help sanitise the civil service and tackle the menace of ghost workers.

-          The directive which also affects workers at the local government level added that “submission of BVN, forms part of the ongoing verification of staff … updating of records of employees…” 

-          The Head of Service was reportedly directed to ensure prompt compliance by all workers.
