BUHARI GIVES CONDITIONS BEFORE SIGNING 2016 BUDGET

-           While in United States (US), President Mohammadu Buhari has stated that he won’t sign the 2016 budget passed into law unless he critically reviews it.

-          Speaking in a meeting with the US Secretary of State, John Kennedy in Washington DC, Buhari said his critical review was necessary following the controversial alteration and padding of the 2016 budget proposals.
-          According to him, reviewing the budget would ensure certainty whether its content tallied with the original budget proposal presented to the National Assembly.
-          Buhari however, pledged his administration’s commitment to prosecute the war against corruption, while he sought and received an assurance that the US government would facilitate the repatriation of all stolen Nigerian funds within the American banking system.
