The
Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) have urged President
Mohammadu Buhari to use his position as Minister of Petroleum Resources and
urgently coordinate responses to the fuel scarcity.

The statement was signed by the Executive
Director of SERAP, Mr. Adetokumbo Mumuni in Abuja on Monday.

Mumuni stated that the scarcity of fuel was
adversely affecting millions of Nigerians and causing serious hardship.

He stressed that the United Nations Committee on
Economic, Social and Cultural Rights consider poverty as a breach of the
obligations assumed by states.
