Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade
has revealed that four international companies with expertise in deep seaport
are scrambling to invest in Bakassi deep seaport, developed by the state
government.

The governor made the disclosure while briefing
newsmen at the Margaret Ekpo international airport Calabar, when he returned
from a working trip to 11 countries in Europe, Asia and South America.

Ayade stated that it was imperative that he
undertook the trip as he strives to revamp the state’s economy.

The governor being received by his deputy, Prof.
Ivara Esu and members of the state executive council, Ayade added that he
recognized the country’s challenges and the meltdown in global economy, and
only states that globalize their economy would progress.
