SARAKI SEEKS TO STALL TRIAL TODAY

-          The senate president, Bukola Saraki has asked the appeal court in Abuja to stay proceedings of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) trying allegations of false asset declaration against him.

-          The appeal was filed just 24 hours before his trial was to begin at the CCT.
-          The appeal is to challenge the ruling of the CCT on March 24, which dismissed an application challenging the jurisdiction of the Tribunal to hear the case.

-          The tribunal had earlier fixed hearing on the case for April 5.
