The management of Akwa United has approved the
payment of match bonuses to the players of the team for securing a draw away
against Wikki Tourist.

The chairman of the club, mr Paul Bassey
announced that the players will get N50, 000 instead of the stipulated N30, 000
away draw bonus.

The team manager, Mr Emmanuel Udoh in a
statement stated that the team has stepped up their game.

The promise keepers went on to defeat the
El-Kanemi warriors of Katsina by 3 – 1.
