Lagos
State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode has been commended for giving priority to the
health sector in the 2016 budgetary allocation of the state.
-
Nigeria Network of Non-Governmental
Organisations (NNNGOs) gave the commendation in Lagos, stating that the health
sector in the state got about 9.6% of the budget which is higher than the 2014
and 2015 allocation.
-
The Secretary General of NNNGOs, Bar. Ayo
Adebusoye, during a quarterly CS media forum
organized by Devcoms Network tasked the Governor to ensure more
transparency in the budget implementation.
-
However, he said efforts by the state government
may have little or no impact if health authorities are not appointed into local
government and local council areas across the state.
