state Governor, Ayodele Fayose has condemned the arrest of 76 Igbo villagers in
Ugwuneshi Autonomous community, Agwu LGA of Enugu state, following a clash
between Fulani herdsmen and natives of the community.

About 76 persons from the community were
yesterday arrested and taken away by “men in military” after they protested the
persistent destruction of their crops and farmlands by Fulani herdsmen.

Governor Ayodele speaking on the alleged arrest,
through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere
Olayinka urged President Buhari to address the killing of Nigerians and
destruction of farmlands by Fulani herdsmen.

Governor Fayose
called for immediate and unconditional release of the villagers, adding that
the federal government should not give the impression that Fulani herders are
Lords in Nigeria.
