Brig.-Gen. Aliyu Momoh, Brig,-Gen. Olajide Laleye
and others have been retired by the Nigerian Army Council.

The retirement of the senior officers was in
connection with the recommendations of the panel set up to look into
professional misconduct against the military personnel in 2015 general
elections in Ekiti State.

The acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col.
Sani Usman, confirmed the retirement without further details.

Meanwhile the army has confirmed they are not in
possession of President Buhari’s secondary school certificate as was mentioned
by the President in 2014.
