COURT FIXES PISTORIUS SENTENCING FOR JUNE 13 – 17



-          South African Supreme Court says the Olympic and Paralympic gold medalist, Oscar Pistorius, would face sentencing in June, following his conviction for murdering his girlfriend.

-          From Johannesburg, it was reported that sentenced sentence on Pistorius will be passed between June 13 and 17.
-          Pistorius who is also as “Blade Runner” faces a minimum of 15-year jail sentence if convicted for the carbon fibre prosthetic blades he used to race.

-          The Court had in December upgraded the 29-year-old Paralympian’s sentence on appeal to murder from “culpable homicide”, South Africa’s equivalent of manslaughter, which he received a 5-year jail term.
